feature - golden globes 2013
Posted Sunday, January 13, 2013 // 11:01 PM

After looking through all the tumblr gif about the Golden Globes, I have to say I love Tina Fey and Amy Poehler as hosts. Aren't they just the funniest female duo alive? Though I am not so sure about what they had on during red carpet. I mean it's not the worst but they definitely had better. I mean, remember Tina's Oscar dress and Emmy dress last year? Boy those were gorgeous.
But I have to say that hats off to Amy for wearing the pants. Pun intended.

I am utterly devastated that Girls beat Modern Family as the best comedy this year. It's tragic. I mean, Modern Family is such a wholesome show appropriate for everyone. And I don't know much about Girls but apparently from what I've heard, it wasn't good. And a lot of sex is involved. Sigh. Negative things aside, I shall talk about Julie Bowen's gorgeous glow on the red carpet. I just really like this photo because of her smile. The dress is not her best look but she does look awesome anyway. Anyway, just look.

Golden Globes 2013

There were a lot of repetition that is pretty annoying. Like Zooey Deschanel wearing exactly what she wore last year at the Emmys but a different colour and made with a different material. But I really don't like the dress this year because it looks so much bulkier and her pearl necklace make her look so old. She instantly look like Emily Blunt in the whole outfit. I just feel like Oscar de la Renta's creations are better on curvier ladies like Sofia Vergara. I kind of miss that light blue dress at this point. Mmm...

And there is also the mermaid dress with hair flung to only one side trend going on again on the red carpet. People think they can do it like Nina Dobrev in 2012's Emmy awards. But one too many times, it is just boring. So even though Jessica Alba look really great with her peach mermaid dress and flawless make-up, I just feel like I've seen it before. Ah... nothing to say about Megan Fox's.

"Eh what do you know!"

I do love Lucy Liu's dress. At first I was perplexed by that choice, but it grew on me. I have to admit it isn't the first gown you think about when someone say "award show" but I appreciate the freshness she brings to the maroons and blacks. I like her light makeup and fishtail braid too. You can't complain cause there is no other hair style that goes in a way that doesn't allow her to stand out.

I should just type out what I hate about the red carpet. There was Kaley Cuoco's makeup that completely doesn't go with her dress. That vampire get-up is really ghastly though I do like her dress. I don't know what her stylist was thinking.

I didn't like Anne Hathaway's clutch though. It was a little too weird. I love her everything else though...
Okay enough with the hate, now to the extremely long list of Best Dressed.
Nicole Richie in Naeem Khan dress, Brian Atwood shoes, with the House of Harlow 1960 Jude clutch, H. Stern earrings, and rings by Arunashi, Sylva & Cie, Elahn, and House of Harlow 1960.
Naomi Watts in an oxblood Zac Posen gown.
Amy on the red carpet in a Marchesa dress, Christian Louboutin bag, and Tiffany & Co jewels.
Catherine Zeta Jones in a strapless green silk gown by Monique Lhuillier along with Ferragamo black satin strappy shoes and clutch.
Julianne Hough rocked a Monique Lhuillier gown, Jerome Rousseau shoes, Daniella Villegas jewels, and a Salvatore Ferregamo clutch. She is probably my favourite in this event.
Michelle Dockery in Alexandre Vauthier dress.
